Jenni
Padgett
BIOGRAPHY
With over 17 years of combined agency and client-side marketing research, analytics, and strategy experience, Jenni Padgett has worked across CPG, retail, foodservice, healthcare, education and technology industries to name a few.
A true Midwesterner, Jenni was raised as a Michigan fan (Go Blue!) living in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois her entire life before relocating to Cave Creek, Arizona with her husband and two kids. She earned a Marketing degree from Miami University (Ohio), then began her marketing research career at Nielsen BASES in Chicago as a research analyst forecasting new product sales. After a jump to the client side and spending nearly five years in insights and innovation at Wrigley/MARS, she begrudgingly left the world of Skittles and Starburst to be closer to family in Columbus, Ohio. There she worked in strategy at global retail design agency FITCH, and then in Consumer Insights at Wendy’s corporate headquarters before starting her own consultancy and working with a broad range of clients.
The pandemic brought the newest member of the Padgett family – their Covid dog Winnie Pearl – a Border Collie Poodle mix with more energy than the kids (and that’s hard to beat!).
GET TO KNOW JENNI
I proudly attended…
Miami University in Ohio. You may know a classmate of mine – Big Ben? Go Redhawks!
Most people don’t know that…
I was once a member of a traveling rope skipping demonstration team.
At my funeral reception, they should serve…
French fries. And sauces…many dipping sauces.
And the playlist should be…
The likes of the Lumineers, Caamp, The Head and the Heart, Adele, or my old fave – the Indigo Girls. And let’s not forget Taylor (more Bad Blood, less You’ve Got a Friend).
When I go to the movies, I like to eat…
Skittles (I’ll always be brand loyal).
On the weekends, I can be found…
With the kids – soccer games, theater performances, birthday parties, hiking, paddleboarding.
Hosting friend get togethers – BBQ’s, swim parties, play dates.
My top pet peeves are…
The smell of seafood in the workplace – well anywhere really.
Also, when drawers or cabinets are not completely shut.
I am a huge sucker for…
Kids who claim to love me “to the moon and back 2 million times” when they want something (usually candy, more device time, or to stay up later).
My favorite book of all time is…
I can’t name just one. I read a lot of fiction mysteries to clear my mind (or you could argue – freak myself out) before bed at night.
Personal mantras I follow…
The sun will come out tomorrow. Which may or may not be influenced by my daughter’s obsession with Annie, or the fact that I now live in AZ.
It could always be worse.
Things I’ve always wondered…
How UM football can be so so good, and then so bad. (Postscript…things are looking up this 21/22 season!)
I wanted to work in marketing because…
I’m passionate about understanding what makes people tick. For me, uncovering the “why’s” behind consumer perceptions, behaviors, and attitudes is not only necessary for growing brands, it’s fun for me!
I like being part of the Nucleus team because…
I enjoy working with people whom I greatly respect, that are always teaching me something new, and who make me laugh every day. And Nucleus clients are awesome – they are open to learning, trust our partnership, and are just genuinely nice people.
My favorite quotes from clients are…
“You tell me, you’re the expert” and “I know we’re just talking to ourselves here, but…”
Marketing mantra that I follow…
Crap in, crap out (more of a research mantra).
If I worked retail, it would be at…
My own store – I always wanted to own a boutique that sold pretty paper goods, jewelry, purses and the like.
My hometown…
Is Dublin, OH – home of Jack Nicklaus’s Muirfield Village golf course and The Memorial Tournament, a fun high school reunion, errr golf event, that takes place each June.
Before I leave this Earth I want to…
Raise two happy, grateful, selfless children who are focused on making their community a better place.
